HOW IT HAPPENED

- The Bobcats led the first half in shots (4-3) and shots on goal (3-1) while the Cougars had the period's only two corner kicks.
- Squeezing past two Cougar defenders on the left side, Zamaya Rivera dribbled into the box and fired a low shot off the inside of the right post to give the Bobcats a 2-0 lead in the 62nd minute.
- Late in the second half, UCM was fouled in the box and awarded a penalty kick, but CSUSM keeper Keira Patterson made a diving stop to the right side and knocked the ball out of play.
