SAN MARCOS, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos volleyball team (3-8, 2-2 CCAA) recorded a four-set come-from-behind CCAA victory over Cal State Dominguez Hills (3-8, 1-3 CCAA) on Saturday afternoon in The Sports Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- In the blink of an eye, the Cougars found themselves down 8-2 and played catch up the entire first set before falling 25-10. Â
- A Barr ace followed by a pair of CSUDH setting errors gave CSUSM an 8-4 lead in the second set, but the Toros rallied back to even the set at 12-all. Down 18-15, the Cougars put together a comeback to take a 19-18 lead on a Ridgeway tip that dropped behind the block. Three kills by Thomas, a Barr kill and a Wentzel solo block gave CSUSM the 25-21 victory in the second set and evened the match at 1-1.
- The third set started off close with neither team taking a lead larger than two points. The Cougars tallied four unanswered points, capped by a Thomas kill, to take a 14-12 lead to force a CSUDH timeout. Out of the timeout, CSUSM kept the run alive with four more unanswered points to force the Toros to take their final timeout at 18-12. The Cougars stayed on top to record a 25-17 third-set victory and take a 2-1 lead in the match.
- CSUSM tallied a .387 attack percentage behind 14 kills on 31 attempts and only two errors in the third set while forcing CSUDH to make 10 hitting errors for a .023 clip.
- Sofia Hedqvist stepped up in the fourth set with a set-high five kills to lead the Cougars to a 25-20 victory.

- Turner collected her seventh double-double of the season with 36 assists and 12 digs while Barr notched her fourth double-double with 13 kills and 12 digs.
- Thomas' 12 kills were a career-best as she finished the weekend with 18 kills and a .308 attack percentage.
- CSUSM is 9-4 in the all-time series with CSUDH and is 5-0 when playing in The Sports Center.
