SAN MARCOS, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos volleyball team (1-3) dropped three-straight sets to (RV) Biola in the Cougar Classic finale Saturday evening at The Sports Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Cougars started off strong in the opening set before Biola went on a 9-1 run to make it 16-7. CSUSM closed the gap to 22-17 on a Wentzel kill before the Eagles answered to take a 25-19 win in the first set.
• The Eagles started out hot in set two, jumping out to a 9-2 lead before the Cougars rallied back to 15-13 on a Kelsy Rasmussen kill. Biola eventually took the second set at 25-18 and moved to 2-0 in the match.
• The Cougars took a 4-3 lead in the third set on a back row kill by Trinity Barr. Seven unanswered points gave the Eagles a 16-7 led to set them up for a 25-16 victory and the sweep.
• Biola hit .465 in the final set with 18 kills on 28 attempts while making only five errors.
