SAN MARCOS, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos women's soccer team (0-0-1) began the 2022 season with a scoreless draw against Azusa Pacific (0-0-1) on Thursday afternoon at The Cage.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• In the first half, APU led CSUSM 4-1 on shots and had a 4-0 advantage on corners.
• In the final 45 minutes and despite being outshot 3-2, both of CSUSM's shots were on goal while APU had none.

 
QUICK KICKS

• APU ended the game with a 7-3 shot advantage while both teams had three shots on goal.
• APU had a 5-1 lead on corner kicks.
• Chloe King led CSUSM with two shots, both on goal.
• This was CSUSM's first tie to open a season since a 1-1 draw to Concordia University Irvine in 2016.
