Garrett Apker broke the program's all-time strikeout record as the Cougars (17-32, 13-26 CCAA), split Friday's doubleheader against Stanislaus State (15-30, 12-27 CCAA) with a 9-7 win and a 6-0 loss.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Warriors took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning on a two-run homer to left by Trevor McInerney.
- Apker claimed the program's all-time strikeout record in the bottom of the second inning as he got a strikeout swinging for his 169th career punchout.
- CSUSM took a 5-2 lead in the top of the third on a bases-loaded walk by Niko Diaz, a two-run single through the left side by Lopez and a two-run single to right center by Teisher.
- Stan State brought the deficit down to 5-4 in the bottom of the third with an RBI single by McInerney and an RBI sacrifice bunt by Matt Elser.
- A two-run homer by Stanford in the top of the fourth put the Cougars up 7-4.
- The Warriors made it 7-6 in the bottom of the fifth with a two-run single up the middle by Alex Solis.
- A two-run inning on a bases-loaded walk by Stanford and an RBI single to center by Demetrius Freeman put CSUSM up 9-6 in the top of the seventh.
- Stan State scored its final run in the bottom of the seventh on an RBI single to center by Zach Jones and cut the Cougars' lead to 9-7.

- In his final collegiate start, Apker (5-3) earned the win and struck out seven while allowing six earned runs on seven hits, two walks and a hit batter in 6.0 innings. He ended his CSUSM career with 173 strikeouts.
- Cougar reliever Conner Gleissner (S, 1) picked up the three-inning save as he struck out two while allowing one earned run on three hits and two walks.
- Warrior starter Maxwell Pappas (6-5) took the loss as he allowed seven earned runs on nine walks and five hits while striking out four with 110 pitches in just 3.0 innings.
- Aiden Richert ran his hitting streak to 15 games and tied Luke Reece for the longest streak of the season.
- Richert and Van Linge each reached base for the 15th consecutive game, tying Reece's team-best streak.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Warriors plated their first two runs in the bottom of the first inning on a CSUSM throwing error and sacrifice fly to right by Matt Elser.
- A Trevor McInerney RBI double down the left field line put Stan State up 3-0 in the bottom of the third.
- A CSUSM error on a Stan State double steal and an RBI double by Grant Bunker put the Warriors up 5-0 in the bottom of the fourth.
- The Warriors wrapped up the scoring in the bottom of the sixth on a solo shot to right by Zach Jones to make it 6-0.
- CSUSM left a couple of runners on base in the top of the seventh as a strikeout looking ended the game.
