CSUSM Sees School Record Fall at Bryan Clay Invitational

AZUSA, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos women's track & field team saw one school record fall in addition to two other top-10 performances at Azusa Pacific's Bryan Clay Invitational on Wednesday through Friday at Cougar Stadium.
 
TOP PERFORMANCES
  • Ana Mercado broke the school record in the 800-meter run with an NCAA Division II provisional time of 2:09.68. She broke the previous school record of 2:11.25 set by Charlotte Kuzminsky in 2016. Mercado's time was 1.60 seconds faster than her previous PR.
  • Teigen O'Donnell entered the program's top 10 in the 400-meter hurdles as she posted a time of 1:05.91 – the ninth-best time in program history.
  • In the heptathlon's javelin throw, Morgann Wilson improved her PR with the eighth-best mark in program history at 33.99 meters – .34 better than her previous PR.
  • Maria Texis improved her PR in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 18:20.80. Her previous best was 18:22.17.
 
UP NEXT
CSUSM began Long Beach State's Beach Invitational on Friday and will finish the meet on Saturday at Jack Rose Track.
