SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos softball team (18-2, 9-1 CCAA) snagged a doubleheader sweep that included a shutout at Cal State San Bernardino (6-11, 2-8 CCAA) by scores of 4-1 and 2-0 on Saturday afternoon at CSUSB Softball Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- After Sabrina Morales reached on a CSUSB error in the top of the third inning, Andelin crushed a 2-run homer to center to give CSUSM the lead.
- In the top of the fourth, Kayla Mack hit a one-out single down the right line. Mayca Brown, pinch running for Mack, moved to second on Bianca Gutierrez's groundout to third and later scored on Steiner's RBI double to left field to make it 3-0 CSUSM.
- The Coyotes got on the board in the bottom of the fourth on Alyssa Martinez's one-out home run to center field to make it 3-1.
- Ponce, pinch hitting for Coyle, led off the sixth with a double up the middle, and Salgado followed with an RBI double to right center to extend CSUSM's lead to 4-1.
QUICK HITS
- Coyle (7-1) collected the series-opening win after tossing a complete game and allowing just one earned run on three hits while striking out six.
- CSUSB's Samantha Vargas took the loss after 3.2 innings in the circle, relinquishing three runs (two earned) on three hits and one walk.
- With her double in the fourth inning, Mack extended her hitting streak to four games.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Guiliano hit an infield single to third and advanced around the bases on two errors to give CSUSM a 1-0 lead in the third inning.
- In the sixth, the Cougars got another run across on Gutierrez's RBI single to shortstop.
- Sloss racked up five strikeouts with two coming in the final inning.
QUICK HITS
- Sloss (7-0) earned her seventh win of the season with a complete-game shutout in the nightcap, allowing just three hits – one extra-base hit – while collecting five strikeouts.
- CSUSB's starter Brooklyn Blackmon took the loss after 6.0 innings of action, giving up two runs (one earned) on five hits while striking out six.
- This marks the first time in 27 matchups against CSUSB that CSUSM has won two consecutive games.
- The Cougars are now 6-21 in the all-times series against the Coyotes.
