SAN MARCOS – Already with the series win in hand, the Cal State San Marcos baseball team fell 10-3 to Cal State San Bernardino in the series finale on Sunday at CSUSM Baseball Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- CSUSM took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning. After a double down the left field line by Stanford, Teisher ripped an RBI double down the opposite line to score Stanford.
- CSUSB tied it at 1-1 in the top of the fourth inning with a solo shot to right by Jake Borst.
- The Coyotes took their first lead in the top of the fifth at 2-1 on a solo blast to left by Giovanni Del Negro. With the bases loaded and no outs, AJ Barraza hit an RBI single towards the right field line before a bases-clearing triple by Brandon Galindo. With two on and still no outs, Borst drove in two more runs with a single to right. The Coyotes then went up 10-1 on a two-run single by Garrett Macias. Altogether, CSUSB struck for nine runs in the inning.
- With runners on first and second and one out, an RBI single to left by Reece scored Teisher and made it a 10-2 game in the bottom of the seventh.
- Down by eight entering the bottom of the ninth, Freeman hit a one-out RBI single back up the middle to score Teisher, who led off the inning by getting hit by a pitch. After the run, CSUSM was picked off at first and flew out to right to end the game.
QUICK HITS
- With his 18th career sacrifice bunt in the bottom of the fourth inning, Teisher became CSUSM's all-time leader in the category.
- Coyote starter Raul Meza (4-2) earned the win as he threw five strikeouts while allowing two runs on seven hits, two walks and a hit-by-pitch in 7.0 innings.
- Cougar starter Conner Gleissner (2-2) took the loss as he allowed seven runs on seven hits and a walk in 4.0 innings.
- CSUSM's three double plays were the most it has turned this season.
- Kevin Van Linge's 14-game reached-base streak came to an end.
