CHICO, Calif. – Four members of Cal State San Marcos men's basketball took home All-CCAA honors on Tuesday evening as Jayce McCain and Blake Seits earned first-team accolades while Alex Gil-Fernandez and Greg Milton III were named to the second team.
 
The Cougars had four All-CCAA recipients in 2017-18, but this is the first time all four have been named to the first and second team.
 
McCain averaged 12.2 points per game with 3.6 assists and 1.5 steals per game during the regular season. One of the nation's best free throw shooters, McCain shot 90% (54-of-60) from the charity stripe to rank 12th nationally and lead the CCAA. The Sacramento native also posted the third-best assist-turnover ratio in the conference at 2.4. This is his first All-CCAA honor.
 
Seits led CSUSM and ranked fourth in the CCAA for scoring at 16.4 points per game while also leading the team with 5.0 rebounds and 1.7 steals. The Ramona product was one of the most accurate shooters in the conference as his 45.9 field-goal percentage ranked fifth, his 39.6 3-point field-goal percentage ranked sixth and his 88.2 free-throw percentage ranked second. Seits averaged 2.7 3-point field goals per game to rank fifth in the CCAA. This is his second All-CCAA honor after being named an honorable mention in 2019-20.
 
Gil-Fernandez finished the regular season with 7.7 points and 4.2 rebounds while shooting 44.4% from the field. The Palo Alto native posted a team-best 35 offensive rebounds and had the second-most assists on the roster with 53. His 1.4 steals per game ranked 12th in the CCAA while his 2.5 assists per game ranked 15th. This is his first All-CCAA honor.
 
Milton was CSUSM's second-leading scorer at 13.4 points per game while tallying 4.8 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.4 steals per game. He finished the regular season shooting 40.4% from the field and 39.3% from downtown. In CCAA play, the Sacramento native had the fifth-best field-goal percentage in the league at 42.1% while his 14.9 points per game rank ninth. This is his first All-CCAA honor.
 
As the No. 3 seed at the CCAA Tournament, the Cougars will open postseason play by facing sixth-seeded Cal Poly Pomona on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. in Arcata at Lumberjack Arena. The winner will go on to face second-seeded Chico State on Friday at 5:30 p.m.
