POMONA, Calif. – Down two goals in the first half, the Cal State San Marcos men's soccer team (4-7-2, 2-3-1 CCAA) battled back with two goals of its own in the second half to earn a 2-2 draw at No. 10 Cal Poly Pomona (8-1-4, 3-0-3 CCAA) on Sunday at Kellogg Stadium.

GOALS
CPP – 4' Christian Miramonetes (Assisted by Mike Moser)
CPP – 29' Oscar Grieshel Facey
CSUSM – 50' Malachi Wright
CSUSM – 85' John Williamson (Assisted by Derek Westwood)

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • A pass from outside of the box on the left side by Moser found Miramontes in the center of the box, who put the ball into the left corner of the goal and gave the Broncos a 1-0 lead in the fourth minute.
  • A laser of a shot from the top left corner of the box in the 29th minute by Grieshel Facey found the right corner of the net and gave CPP a 2-0 lead.
  • Breaking away from the rest of the pack, Wright put a sliding shot into the middle of the net as a defender and the CPP keeper also tried to make a sliding save and cut the Broncos' lead to 2-1 in the 50th minute.
  • The Cougars evened the game at 2-2 in the 85th minute. After Westwood threw in the ball from the left side, he took possession at the top left corner of the box. A Westwood cross into the middle of the box was then headed by Williamson into the right corner of the goal to knot the game.
