SAN MARCOS, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos men's soccer team (4-7-3, 2-3-2 CCAA) took a 1-1 draw against Chico State (6-3-5, 3-1-3 CCAA) on Friday at The Cage.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- After 45 minutes, Chico outshot CSUSM by a 7-2 margin while putting four shots on goal.
- Off a corner kick from Brunetto on the right side, Reader headed the ball into the center of the net from the penalty kick marker and put the Cougars on top at 1-0 in the 49th minute.
- With time winding down in the second half, a long pass from the left side by Moll found Ricketts, who put the ball into the net from six yards out on the right side to even the game at 1-1 in the 87th minute.
QUICK KICKS
- This was the first tie between the Cougars and Wildcats since 2016 when the game also ended in a 1-1 tie.
- Reader's goal was his first of the season while Brunetto's assist gave him a team-high six points.
- Chico had the advantage in shots at 10-5 and corner kicks at 4-2.
- With the draw, CSUSM now has eight points in CCAA play.
