SAM MARCOS, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos volleyball team (7-13, 6-7 CCAA) registered a series sweep over Chico State (3-17, 1-12 CCAA) on Friday afternoon at The Sports Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- After a bit of a slow start, the Cougars turned it on to cruise to a 25-13 victory behind a .524 attack percentage.
- A 6-0 run to take an 8-2 lead was all the cushion CSUSM needed as they registered a 25-15 second-set victory.
- The Wildcats evened the third set at 8-all on a Jane Mcnulty kill which sparked a Cougar run with three consecutive points. Chico State cut CSUSM's lead to one point at 13-12 before another Cougar run at 5-0 proved to be the deciding moment. CSUSM clinched the sweep with a 25-19 victory.

- The Cougars completed their first series sweep of the season after taking down the Wildcats in three sets in Chico on Sept. 24.
- Ridgeway's nine total blocks tied the CSUSM single-match record for three sets first completed by Faith Fortuné on Oct. 10, 2017 against Cal State LA.
- The nine blocks also tied a career high for Ridgeway which took five sets to achieve at Stanislaus on Oct. 2, 2021.
- CSUSM is now 8-3 in the all-time series against Chico and extended its win streak to six consecutive victories against the Wildcats.
- The Cougars led in attack percentage (.259 - .010), kills (31-30), aces (5-3) and blocks (10-1).
