SEASIDE, Calif. – A late goal was the difference as the Cal State San Marcos (4-6-1, 2-2-0 CCAA ) men's soccer team fell 1-0 to Cal State Monterey Bay (4-4-2, 2-2-0 CCAA) on Sunday at the Otter Sports Complex.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Cougars kept the heavy Otter attack at bay in the first half as CSUMB had a 7-1 shot advantage while putting four shots on goal.
- An Otter corner kick from the right side by O'Mahony curved into the left corner of the goal to put CSUMB up late at 1-0.

- The Cougars had no shots in the second half as the Otters finished the game with an 11-1 advantage. Vincent Saldivar had CSUSM's lone shot.
- CSUSM had more corner kicks for the game at 4-3.
- This was the Cougars' first loss against the Otters since 2017, a game also played in Seaside.
- This was the first game between CSUSM and CSUMB to end with only one goal scored since the inaugural meeting in 2008.
- The last time the Cougars were held to one shot was in 2019 at Azusa Pacific.
