SAN MARCOS, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos volleyball team (6-13, 5-7 CCAA) fell in three sets to San Francisco State (11-8, 7-5 CCAA) on Saturday in The Sports Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- CSUSM and SF State stayed within four points of each other for the entire first set. Down 13-12, the Gators built a 17-13 lead with five consecutive points off three kills, an ace and Cougar attack error. CSUSM brough the deficit back down to one at 23-22 with kills by Ridgeway and Hedqvist, but a Gator kill and ace sealed the set.
- Tied at 18 in the second set, the Gators took a 2-0 lead for the match with a 7-3 run after posting 16 kills to the Cougars' six.
- The third set was all SF State, leading by as many as eight points at 24-16. A four-point run by the Cougars made it 24-20, but a CSUSM service error gave the Gators the three-set win.
