SAN MARCOS, Calif. –  The Cal State San Marcos women's soccer team (5-5-3, 3-2-1 CCAA) will host (RV) Chico State (6-2-4, 3-1-2 CCAA) on Friday at 12:30 p.m. before welcoming Cal Poly Humboldt (5-3-4, 2-1-3 CCAA) to The Cage on Sunday at 11:30 a.m.
 
Prior to Sunday's game, CSUSM will honor seniors Brooke Innis, Devyn Kelley, Chloe King, Grace Marks, Sierra Moore and Taylor Moorehead.

LAST WEEK

• The Cougars posted a scoreless tie against Cal State LA last Thursday.
• CSUSM then fell 1-0 on Sunday to Cal Poly Pomona.
• After the weekend of games, CSUSM is currently tied for fourth in the CCAA standings with 10 points.

COUGARS BY THE NUMBERS

• Goalkeeper Allison Marcure's goals-against average of .769 ranks third in the CCAA and 50th nationally while her six shutouts rank third in the conference and 19th nationally.

FRIDAY AGAINST THE WILDCATS

• Chico comes into the week receiving votes in the United Soccer Coaches Top 25 Poll.
• The Wildcats are currently third in the CCAA standings with 11 points.
• Chico posted a 2-0 win against Cal State East Bay last Thursday before playing to a scoreless tie at Stanislaus State on Sunday.
• The Wildcats are outscoring their opponents 17-5 this season.
• Keeper Emma Hoffman has the nation's sixth-best save percentage at .902 and has the 12th-best goals-against average of .435.
• Mackenzie Gill leads the team with nine points on three goals and three assists.

SENIOR SUNDAY AGAINST HUMBOLDT

• The Lumberjacks come into the week sixth in the CCAA standings with nine points.
• Prior to Sunday's visit to The Cage, Humboldt will travel to Cal State San Bernardino on Friday.
• Last week, the Lumberjacks tallied a 1-1 tie against Stanislaus State before earning a 1-0 win at Cal State East Bay.
• Humboldt has scored and allowed 12 goals this season.
• Erin Mohr is the Lumberjacks' leading scorer with three goals while Frida Duran Arellano leads the team with four assists.

2022 CSUSM WOMEN'S SOCCER NOTES

• CSUSM will begin its 2022 season with a very young roster as it welcomes 13 incoming freshmen to its roster of 28.
• The Cougars return 12 from the 2021 squad, including top-goal scorers Chloe King, Sierra Moore and Hunter Morton and starting keeper Allison Marcure.
• Marcure ended the 2021 season with the 25th-best save percentage in Division II at .855 and ranked third in the CCAA.
• Graduate student Taylor Moorehead joins CSUSM as a transfer from San Diego State.
• In 2021, the Cougars finished the season at .500 with an overall record of 6-6-3.
• CSUSM finished 10th in the CCAA standings with a 2-6-3 record.
• The Cougars were picked to finish 10th in the 2022 CCAA Women's Soccer Preseason Coaches Poll.
• Starting this season, the NCAA has eliminated overtime periods from men's and women's soccer regular-season games. All games tied after 90 minutes will end in a draw.

THE RENNEISEN FILE

• Head coach Bobby Renneisen enters his ninth year in charge of the women's program and 17th overall at CSUSM.
• Renneisen's 2018 team made its second consecutive CCAA Tournament appearance in 2018 while also handing No. 1 UC San Diego its lone regular-season loss.
• Between 2006-13, Renneisen was an assistant/associate head coach for both the men's and women's soccer teams.
• As the women's head coach, Renneisen is 52-49-31 (.511) for his career with the Cougars.
