Cougars Post 2-0 Shutout Against Coyotes

SAN MARCOS, Calif. – In its final non-conference game before beginning CCAA play, the Cal State San Marcos women's soccer team put up a 2-0 shutout over Cal State San Bernardino on Saturday at The Cage.

GOALS

CSUSM – 61' Hunter Morton (Unassisted)

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Morton broke past a Coyote defender to receive a long pass from beyond midfield. Dribbling for about 10 yards with one defender to beat, Morton took a shot from the top of the box and put it in the back right corner of the goal to give CSUSM a 1-0 lead in the final seconds of the first half.
  • In the 61st minute, Morton struck again for the Cougars. A CSUSB pass back to the keeper was intercepted in the box by Morton. Dancing around the keeper to her right, Morton connected with a shot that found the middle of the net to give the Cougars a 2-0 lead.
