SAN DIEGO – Two early goals were the difference as the Cal State San Marcos men's soccer team fell 2-0 to Point Loma at PLNU Soccer Field on Thursday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Off a blocked shot, Scalzo grabbed the rebound and took a shot to the bottom right corner of the goal from the center of the box to put the Sea Lions up 1-0 in the seventh minute.
- PLNU went up 2-0 in the 19th minute as Scalzo struck again from six yards out with a low shot into the center of the net after receiving a pass from Lavell on the right side.
- In the 79th minute, CSUSM had a golden opportunity as Aaron Alvarez received a pass from the left side. With one defender to beat, he took a shot from six yards outs that went off the center part of crossbar.

- The Cougars fall to 0-4-0 on the year while PLNU improves to 1-2-1.
- Although this is the second consecutive win by the Sea Lions in Point Loma over the Cougars, CSUSM still holds a commanding 7-3-1 lead in the all-time series.
- CSUSM and PLNU are now tied at 3-3 when playing in Point Loma.
- The Cougars led the game in shots (7-6) and corner kicks (5-2) while both teams took four shots on goal.
- John Williamson led the game with three shots and tied for the most shots on goal with two.
