HOW IT HAPPENED
- After falling behind 4-2, the Cougars went on an 11-0 run to take a 11-4 lead into the first media timeout.
- CSUSM shot 50% (9-of-18) from the field in the opening quarter to take a 20-11 lead.
- The Golden Eagles closed the gap to 24-21 with a 10-2 run capped with Briana Anugwom's old-fashion 3-point play.
- A 3-pointer from Hackson from the top of the circle made it 27-21 with 6:10 remaining in the second quarter.
- A 3-pointer and layup by Dynnah Buckner put CSUSM up 35-26 at the 4:22 mark.
- The Cougars took a 43-31 lead into the halftime break after shooting 51.4% (18-of-35) from the field while limiting the Golden Eagles to 41.4% (12-of-29).
- CSUSM extended its lead to 67-50 in the third quarter.
- Sydney Buckley scored all nine of her points in the fourth quarter as CSUSM shot 73.3% from the field (11-of-15).
- CSUSM's largest lead of the game came with 2:58 remaining on a FitzGerald 3-pointer that made it 89-66.
