SAN MARCOS, Calif. – On the first day of the CSUSM Hoops Classic, the NR/No. 19 Cal State San Marcos women's basketball team collected a 71-50 win over Seattle Pacific in its home opener Friday night in The Sports Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Cougars held a 27-15 lead after the first quarter, outrebounding the Falcons 12-7.
- The Cougars went on a 15-point run, capped by Forrester's fourth 3-pointer, to close out the first half.
- CSUSM took a 49-27 advantage into the halftime break after shooting 16-of-34 (47.1%) from the field while holding SPU to 11-of-31 (35.5%).
- A Forrester 3-pointer put CSUSM up by 30 points (63-33) with 4:18 remaining in the third quarter.
- CSUSM entered the fourth quarter with a 64-37 lead after Forrester dropped two 3-pointers with Hackson adding one of her own.
- The Cougars held the Falcons at bay, cruising to a 71-50 victory.
FAST BREAKS
- CSUSM improves to 2-0 while SPU drops to 2-2 on the season.
- Forrester tied her career high of six made 3-pointers that she set at Cal Poly Pomona on Dec. 19, 2019.
- The Cougars went to the charity stripe 20 times, making 15 while the Falcons made 10-of-12 from the line.
- The Falcons had a slight edge on the boards at 39-38.
