SAN MARCOS, Calif. – Behind a 14-block performance, the Cal State San Marcos volleyball team collected a four-set CCAA victory over Sonoma State on Saturday afternoon in The Sports Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- A kill by Doering put CSUSM up 8-5 in the opening set.
- Back-to-back Seawolf aces gave SSU a 19-16 lead.
- Doering tallied six of her 14 kills in the first set to lead CSUSM to a 25-22 win.
- The CSUSM offense stumbled in the second set, tallying a -.056 hitting percentage to fall 25-15.
- The Cougars' offense found their rhythm again in the third set, putting together a .241 hitting percentage on top of four aces and four blocks.
- The Cougars opened the fourth set with back-to-back blocks by the duo of Doering and Turner.
- At the 12-11 point, CSUSM went on a 5-1 run capped by a Rasmussen kill.
- SSU closed the gap at 22-18 before the Cougars put it away with three unanswered points.
- CSUSM recorded its best hitting percentage of the day in the fourth and final set, finishing with a .364 clip (15k-3e-33ta).
