HAYWARD, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos volleyball team dropped a four-set CCAA decision (21-25, 25-17, 22-25, 19-25) to Cal State East Bay on Thursday afternoon in the Pioneer Gymnasium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Cordero-Barr started the match with one of her five aces to put CSUSM up 1-0.
- The opening set had nine tied scores and eight lead changes.
- The Pioneers took their largest lead of the first set at 17-14 on a kill by Breyan Ashley.
- CSUSM charged back to cut CSUEB's lead to one at 21-20 on a Stephanie Adams kill.
- The Pioneers closed out the set with a 4-1 run to win 25-21 and take a 1-0 lead in the match.
- The Cougars scored five unanswered points to take a 7-4 lead in the second set, capped by a Cordero-Barr ace.
- From that point, CSUSM held the lead the entire set to finish at 25-17 behind a .308 clip (10k-2e-25ta).
- The third set had 19 lead changes with neither team taking more than a two-point lead until CSUEB's final two points to clinch the frame at 25-22.
- The Pioneers took charge quickly in the fourth set, jumping out to a 13-4 lead.
- CSUSM attempted a comeback, but CSUEB's lead was too great as the Pioneers clinched the set at 25-19.
