Cougars Settle for 0-0 Draw at No. 25 Chico State

CHICO, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos women's soccer team had to settle for its second consecutive 0-0 draw as it closed out the weekend at No. 25 Chico State on Sunday at University Soccer Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Chico State had a slight 6-5 advantage for shots in the first half while Chloe King led CSUSM with two shots.
  • In the second half, the game remained scoreless as both sides took six shots each while the Wildcats took five corner kicks to the Cougars' two.
  • The Cougars were held without a shot in the first overtime period as the Wildcats dominated the period with eight shots and two shots on goal.
  • Chico State once again outshot CSUSM in the second overtime period at 3-1 and built a combined 11-1 shot advantage in both overtime periods.
  • CSUSM was never able to put a shot on goal in the extra 20 minutes.
  • CSUSM keeper Allison Marcure's 10 saves against Chico tied the program's single-game record set by Jane Drury in 2007 against Mesa State College.
