CARSON, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos volleyball team collected its fifth consecutive win over the Cal State Dominguez Hills Toros on Saturday night with a four-set CCAA victory (25-14, 15-25, 25-19, 25-17) in the Torodome.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Cougars got off to a slow start, finding themselves trailing 4-1 in the opening set.
- CSUSM responded with a 7-1 run, capped by a Stephanie Adams block, and held the lead until the end to take the first set at 25-14.
- The Cougars recorded a .531 hitting percentage (18k-1e-31ta) in the first set.
- The Toros broke away at the 8-all mark with an 11-2 run in the second set.Â
- CSUSM made 13 errors in the second set, falling 25-15 to even the match 1-1.
- The third set consisted of nine ties and five lead changes.Â
- The turning point of the third frame came at the 17-all mark when a block by Mackenzie Jennings and Kiora Ridgeway sparked a 4-0 run.Â
- CSUSM closed out the third set with a kill by Doering to retake the lead in the match at 2-1 with a 25-19 win.Â
- A 7-0 run in the fourth set gave the Cougars a 14-7 lead.Â
- Back-to-back aces by Turner gave CSUSM a 21-11 lead in the fourth frame.Â
