TURLOCK, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos volleyball team served Stanislaus State off the court on Friday night by recording a season-high 12 aces in the CCAA sweep over the Warriors in Ed & Bertha Fitzpatrick Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- After trailing a majority of the set, the Cougars evened the score at 20-all on a Stephanie Adams service ace.
- CSUSM ended the first set at 25-23 with an ace by Turner.
- The second set was a different story as the Cougars jumped out to a 4-1 lead.
- The Warriors came back and evened it at 5-all.
- A Jackie Phillips ace gave CSUSM a 13-9 lead.
- CSUSM pulled away with a 6-3 run to give the Cougars a 19-12 lead, forcing a Warrior timeout.
- Stan State charged back to make it a 22-17 game, but a pair of kills by Ridgeway followed by an Adams kill gave CSUSM a 25-19 victory and a 2-0 lead in the match.
- Before the Cougars could blink, they were trailing 5-0 in the third set to the Warriors.
- The Cougars came roaring back to even the set at 7-all on a Vander Weide ace.
- From that point, there would be 10 ties and four lead changes before a Doering kill would put CSUSM up 20-19.
- The Cougars ended the set with a 5-2 run to clinch the sweep with a 25-21 third-set victory.

- CSUSM moves up to 11-8 on the season and 8-5 in CCAA action.
- Stan State drops to 10-11 overall and 6-7 in conference play.
- With the win, the sixth-place Cougars have a two-match lead over the Warriors in the CCAA standings and are only one match behind fifth-place Sonoma State.
