TURLOCK, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos women's soccer team came up short with a 1-0 loss in CCAA play at Stanislaus State on Friday night at Warrior Stadium.

GOALS
STAN STATE – 54' Jenna Zuniga (Unassisted)

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Both squads battled to a scoreless tie after 45 minutes of action as the Warriors posted a 10-4 shot advantage against the Cougars while also holding possession for 61% of the half.
  • Midway through the 54th minute, Stan State's Zuniga took possession at midfield and put the ball into the box. The ball bounced through the CSUSM keeper's legs and rolled into the left side of the goal to give the Warriors a 1-0 lead.
  • The Cougars had a late opportunity with less than two minutes remaining in the second half. Off a pass from the right side of the box and no one to beat, Emilee Garrett's shot from the penalty marker was saved by the Stan State keeper. After the Warriors cleared it out of the box, Alyssa Pigoni attempted another shot from just outside the box that went just over the crossbar.
