SAN MARCOS, Calif. – Two second-half goals led to the Cal State San Marcos women's soccer team taking a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Cal Poly Pomona in CCAA action on Sunday at The Cage.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The first half went scoreless with both sides taking three shots each while the Cougars had all three shots on goal compared to the Broncos' one.
- With the ball on the left flank in the 50th minute, the Broncos' Garcia made a pass from the top corner of the box to Barrow in the center of the box. Off the pass, Barrow took a shot that went over the keeper's head into the left side of the goal to give CPP a 1-0 lead.
- After a corner kick bounced around the box, Carbonneau gained possession of the ball on the top right side of the box and took a shot that curved into the left portion of the goal to give CPP a 2-0 lead in the 60th minute.
QUICK KICKS
- The Cougars dropped to 5-3-2 (1-3-2 CCAA) while the Broncos improved to 6-4-2 (2-2-2 CCAA).
- CPP ended the game with the shot lead at 11-7 while both squads put four shots on frame.
- CSUSM had a 2-1 edge on corner kicks.
- Devyn Kelley and Ally Tomasetti led the Cougars with two shots each.
- The Broncos had the slight upper hand for possession at 53% of the game while the Cougars spent 63% of its possessions in CPP territory.
- CSUSM now trails in the series at 2-4-3 and is 2-4 against CPP at home.
- With five points, the Cougars sit ninth in the CCAA standings with five games to go.
