HOW IT HAPPENED
- In the ninth minute of action, Schrock received a ball at midfield from the Cougar keeper. Heading back into CSUSM territory, Schrock made a forward pass up the middle to Gonzalez, who received the ball just outside the top of the box. She continued to dribble and avoided the diving keeper in the center of the box before tapping the ball into the goal to put the Golden Eagles up 1-0.
- CSUSM ended the first half with a 5-4 shot advantage but still trailing 1-0.
- The Cougars were again held scoreless in the second half despite having the upper hand in shots at 4-2.
