HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Toros took advantage of a CSUSM error in the first inning as Kelcy Telles drew a walk to begin the game, stole second and advanced on a wild pitch before scoring on the error. Chenoa Au followed with an RBI double down the left field line to put the Toros up 2-0.
  • CSUDH pushed three more runs across in the fourth as Kaylle Hull knocked out a 2-run homer before Alex Davis followed with an RBI single through the left side to make it 5-0.
  • Maddy Ybarra hit an RBI single through the left side, and Hull followed with an RBI double to left center to extend the Toros lead to 7-0 in the top of the fifth.
  • CSUSM's offense came alive in the bottom of the frame as Jaqlyn Newhouser led off with a single down the left field line before being relieved for pinch runner Klarissa Munoz. Silas singled down the left field line and advanced to second on the throw to Munoz, who safely made it to third to put both runners in scoring position. An Andelin RBI groundout and a Forstie RBI single up the middle plated both runs to make it 7-2.
  • With the bases loaded with one out after Horita singled, Scardina doubled and Newhouser drew a walk, Silas came up big again with an RBI single to right center to score the final run of the game.
