ROHNERT PARK, Calif. - The Cal State San Marcos men's basketball team completed the season sweep against Sonoma State with a 59-46 win in California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) action at The Wolves' Den on Thursday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• CSUSM jumped out to an early 6-0 lead, but SSU stormed back with a 9-0 run to go up 9-6 with 11:48 remaining in the first half.
• Tied 11-11 with 9:55 to go, Gil-Fernandez's good free throw put CSUSM back on top at 12-11.
• The Cougars proceeded with a 10-0 run of their own to lead 19-11 with 5:12 to play after a Sean Dunn layup.
• CSUSM ended the first half with a 28-19 lead behind Gil-Fernandez's eight points.
• The Cougars shot 45.5% (10-of-22) from the field in the first 20 minutes while the Seawolves came in at 40.9% (9-of-22).
• McCain had four steals in the first period alone.
• CSUSM had at least a seven-point lead for the entirety of the second half with its largest lead of 14 points coming on four different occasions in the period.
• Seits led the Cougars' second-half scoring efforts with 10 points while SSU's Isaac Davidson led the period with 12.
• The Cougars ended the game shooting 42.6% (20-of-47) from the field while the Seawolves shot 38.5% (20-of-52).

FAST BREAKS

• CSUSM improves to 9-10 (5-8 CCAA) while SSU drops to 3-15 (2-11 CCAA).
• The Seawolves were dealt their 11th consecutive loss.
• CSUSM capitalized on SSU's 18 turnovers by scoring 18 points.
• The Cougars had the lead for 35:38 while all of the Seawolves' time with the lead (2:05) came in the first half.
• With his eight points, Fuller passed former Cougar Quincy Lawson (2012-14) for the fifth-most career points in program history with 608.
• Seits' two 3-pointers for the evening moved him into a tie with Blake Nash (2014-15) for the ninth-most 3-point field goals in program history with 54.
• With the win, CSUSM moves into a three-way tie with Cal State Dominguez Hills and San Francisco State for eighth place in the CCAA standings.
