SEASIDE, Calif. – The California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) schedule got off to a rocky start for the Cal State San Marcos women's soccer team as it fell 1-0 at Cal State Monterey Bay on Friday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Just 37 seconds into the second half, the Otters' Jasmine Safarians received a pass off a free kick and put the ball into the lower left corner of the net to give CSUMB a 1-0 lead and the only goal of the game.
- CSUMB keeper Alyson Schade made five saves in the shutout as the Cougars aimed four shots at the bottom center of the goal and one at the top center.

- CSUSM falls to 1-3-2 (0-1 CCAA) while CSUMB improves to 6-0-1 (1-0 CCAA).
- The Cougars outshot the Otters 9-4 while putting five shots on goal to CSUMB's one.

- This was the fifth consecutive game in which the Cougars failed to score.
