KINGSVILLE, Texas – Cal State San Marcos women's track & field's
Jax Heckers placed 18th in the 10,000-meter run at the 2019 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Javelina Stadium on the campus of Texas A&M - Kingsville.

RACE NOTES
- The first Cougar to compete in the 10,000-meter run at the NCAA Outdoor Championships, Heckers finished the event with a time of 41:15.31.
- She finished ahead of fellow California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) competitor Alexandria Tucker from Chico State, who didn't finish the race.
- Alaska Anchorage's Caroline Kurgat won the event with a final time of 36:34.31.
- Heckers was just the second CSUSM student-athlete to compete at the NCAA Outdoor Championships.
- Heckers was one of four underclassmen in the event – all of which were sophomores.
