SEASIDE, Calif. – A doubleheader sweep by the Cal State San Marcos baseball team clinched a share of its four-game series at Cal State Monterey Bay with wins of 5-2 and 9-1 in California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) play at the Otter Sports Complex on Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- CSUSM went up 2-0 in the first inning with a sacrifice fly to left by Bahna and an RBI double down the left field line by Johnson.
- The Cougars took a 4-0 lead in the fifth thanks to a two-run single by Bahna to right.
- The Otters broke up the shutout in the bottom of the fifth inning with an RBI double to right center by Kyle Czaplak and an RBI single to right by Kyle Dean.
- CSUSM made it a 5-2 game in the top of the sixth on an RBI single to right by Zach Schuberg.

- CSUSM improved to 12-16 (8-14 CCAA) while CSUMB dropped to 16-12 (14-8 CCAA).

HOW IT HAPPENED
- CSUSM went up 3-0 in the first inning with a two-run single up the middle by Bahna and an RBI single to left center by Garcia.
- In the second inning, RBI doubles by Griffin Teisher and Van Til were a precursor to a two-run homer to right by Buck.
- The Otters made it a 7-1 game in the bottom of the third thanks to an RBI single by Brian Morely.
- Buck posted his second home run of the game and sixth of the season with a solo shot to right and put CSUSM up 8-1.
- Garcia rounded out the scoring with an RBI single to center in the top of the sixth.
