CARSON, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos baseball team fell 7-5 to Cal State Dominguez in the second game of its California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) series on Saturday afternoon at Toro Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Toros got the scoring started in the bottom of the second as Domenic Colacchio hit an RBI single to center.
- CSUDH took a 3-0 lead in the fourth inning as Joe Canepa scored on an RBI single by Colacchio before he also scored on a passed ball.
- A two-RBI single by Van Til in the top of the fifth narrowed the gap to 3-2.
- After CSUDH's Grant Decatrel scored on a fielding error, Pierson Loska hit a three-run homer to center to put the Toros up 7-2.
- With a Buck on third with two outs in the top of the sixth, a wild pitch allowed him to score and cut the deficit to 7-3.
- After Van Til got on base with a leadoff walk in the top of the eighth, an RBI fielder's choice by Buck allowed Van Til to score from third and narrow the game to 7-4.
- The Cougars once again tried to make a late rally happen in the ninth, but could only plate one run on an RBI-bunt single bt Van Til.

- CSUSM drops to 8-4 (4-2 CCAA) while CSUDH improves to 2-5 (1-5 CCAA).
- Mike Lopez (2-1) took the loss after allowing seven runs (four earned) and eight hits while striking out two in four innings of work.
- The Toros' Humberto Chiquito earned the win after striking out two and allowing three runs on six hits and two walks in six innings.
