AZUSA, Calif. – A last-second three by No. 25/20 Azusa Pacific took down the Cal State San Marcos men's basketball team by a score of 67-66 at the Felix Event Center on Tuesday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- CSUSM took a double-digit lead at 16-6 with 13:16 remaining in the first half as Bryce Sloan made a layup.
- After a three by APU's Ben Avera cut CSUSM lead to 16-9, CSUSM went on a big 16-0 run to go up 32-9 with just over seven minutes remaining in the half.
- APU closed the half with a 14-6 run over the final seven minutes to cut CSUSM's lead to 38-23 at halftime.
- Fuller and Seits each put up eight points for CSUSM in the first 20 minutes.
- CSUSM shot 50% (14-of-28) from the field in the first period while holding APU to 25.8% (8-of-31).
- In the first 13 minutes of the game, CSUSM had already tallied their eight steals for the half as Sloan racked up three.
- APU cut the deficit to single digits at 38-30 after a fast break layup by Avera with 16:53 remaining.
- Alex Gil-Fernandez put CSUSM back up by 14 at 44-33 on a layup with 15:07 to play.
- Down 13 at 52-39 with 10:30 left to play after Fuller made a layup and a free throw, APU began to slowly chip away at CSUSM's lead.
- With CSUSM up 63-54 at the 2:17 mark after two good free throws by Goudeau, APU went on an 10-2 to cut the deficit to 65-64 with 15 seconds remaining.
- Already in the bonus, Gil-Fernandez drew the foul with 13 seconds on the clock. He made his first free throw to put CSUSM back up 66-64, but he missed his second attempt.
- With 1.7 seconds on the clock, Avera drained a three from just in front of the home bench to give APU a 67-66 lead.
- After an APU timeout, CSUSM had to make a long inbound play, but the lengthy pass from the baseline was stolen by APU on the other end of the court to end the game.
- APU outscored CSUSM 44-28 in the second period while committing just one turnover compared to CSUSM's seven.
- APU owned a 31-17 advantage in rebounds in the second half – 12 of which were offensive.
