SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos volleyball team made program history on Thursday night, claiming the Cougars' first California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Tournament match win with a five-set thriller over Stanislaus State.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Down 9-5 in the first set, the Cougars fought back to even the match at 14-all on a block by Doering and Aguilar.
- CSUSM took its first lead of the opening set at 19-18 on a Warrior hitting error.
- Â A 6-0 run gave the Warriors a 26-24 win in the first set.
- Once again, CSUSM found itself down early, but Doering and Aguilar put together a big block to give the Cougars a 16-15 lead in the second set.
- A Cordero-Barr ace lifted the Cougars to a 22-19 lead, forcing Stan State to take its second timeout of the set.
- A 25-22 CSUSM win in the second set evened the match at 1-1.
- The Cougars hit a match low .200 in the third set, eventually falling 25-15.
- After knotting the score at 4-4 in the fourth set, CSUSM never trailed and finished with a .368 clip.
- CSUSM cruised to a 25-18 win in the fourth to force a fifth set.
- The turning point in the fifth set came after three consecutive kills by Hébert gave the Cougars a 9-4 lead.
