SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos volleyball team dropped a three-set match to No. 1 Cal State San Bernardino in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Tournament semifinals on Friday night at Coussoulis Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- CSUSM got out to a 5-4 lead against the Coyotes on a Micah Hébert cross-court kill.
- After CSUSB took a 13-7 lead, a 9-3 Cougar run evened the set at 16-all. The Coyotes responded with a run of their own to make it 20-16 CSUSB.
- Â The Cougars dropped the opening set, 25-18, after hitting only .146 to CSUSB's .333.
- CSUSM came out hot in the second set, taking a quick 6-1 lead after a Hébert solo block. Â
- Aguilar's ace, CSUSM's fourth of the set, put the Cougars up 21-14.
- An 11-3 run by the Coyotes handed them the 26-24 win and gave them a 2-0 lead in the match.
- Vander Weide crushed an overpass kill to put CSUSM up 7-6 in the third, but a 7-2 run gave the lead back to CSUSB at 13-9.
- Two consecutive Vander Weide kills cut the Coyotes'Â lead to four points (23-19), but CSUSB concluded the match with a pair of kills.
