Briana Daoust on Senior Day was the difference as the Cal State San Marcos women's soccer team posted a 1-0 victory over Chico State in California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) play on Sunday at The Cage.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Prior to the game, CSUSM president Dr. Ellen Neufeldt and CSUSM Director of Athletics Jennifer Milo were on hand to honor seniors Madyson Brown, Bailey Cockrill, Meredith Curran, Briana Daoust, Channel Felix, Jessica Harloe, Gabi Manno and Lauren Perry.
- CSUSM outshot Chico 6-4 in the first half as both teams had three shots on goal for the period.
- The Wildcats came out shooting in the second half with a 10-8 shot advantage, but the Cougars had more shots on goal at 5-4.
- With just 49 seconds remaining in the first overtime period, Harloe sent in a free kick from midfield. The ball was headed by Daoust over the keeper's head and into the bottom right corner of the net to clinch the win.

- CSUSM improved to 5-6-2 (4-4 CCAA) while Chico dropped to 8-5-1 (4-4 CCAA).
- This was CSUSM's third consecutive 1-0 win in overtime games this season.
- The Cougars had a 7-4 advantage on corner kicks and held a slight 15-14 shot advantage.
- Daoust scored her team-leading fourth goal of the season and now has nine points for the year.
- This was Daoust's second game-winning goal of the year.
- Harloe earned her fourth point of the season with the assist.
- Cockrill had a career-high seven saves for the Cougars.
- CSUSM now has a 3-2-1 lead in the all-time series against Chico and is 3-0-1 at home.
