SAN MARCOS, Calif. – After two second-half goals by Chico State, the Cal State San Marcos men's soccer team was dealt a 2-1 California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) loss in Sunday's Senior Day game at The Cage.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Prior to the game, CSUSM president Dr. Ellen Neufeldt and CSUSM Director of Athletics Jennifer Milo were on hand to honor seniors Daniel Alexander, Fausto Avila, Matt Escareno, Parker Hodges and Fabian Jacobo.
- In the 15th minute, Meza's free kick from just outside of the box on the left side sailed into the top right corner of the net and put CSUSM up 1-0.
- After multiple shots on goal in front of the net, Chico's Alex Fluitt finally got one to go with a shot into the lower left corner in the 54th minute.
- Tied 1-1 in the 78th minute, the Wildcats' Fluitt sent a cross to just in front of the goal from the right side. With the ball never bouncing, Jacob Chong put the shot into the middle of the net and gave Chico a 2-1 lead.

- CSUSM moves to 5-7-2 (3-3-2 CCAA) while Chico improves to 8-4 (4-4 CCAA).
- The Wildcats had an 18-10 advantage on shots and a 4-3 advantage on corner kicks.
- Meza's goal was his second of the weekend as he had one against Stanislaus State on Friday.
- The game was a physical one as a season-high 11 cards were issued to go along with 36 fouls.
- CSUSM has had at least 10 shots in all but two games this season.

With its home schedule complete for 2019, CSUSM will now hit the road for its final four regular-season contests. The Cougars will first venture down to La Jolla to face UC San Diego on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
