SAN MARCOS, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos volleyball team tallied a victory over the top California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) team in the North Division for the second consecutive day, this time a sweep over Chico State.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Cougars capped the opening set with an 8-1 run to snag the 25-18 win. CSUSM registered five total blocks that included one solo by Aguilar.
- Down early in the second set, the Cougars rallied back to take a 9-8 lead on a Vander Weide ace. The Cougars went on a 5-0 run behind Maddy Newcombe's serving that included two aces to put CSUSM up 22-13.
- CSUSM took a 2-0 lead in the match after clinching a 25-16 second-set win.
- Three consecutive blocks by the Cougars put them up 24-23, but the Wildcats kept fighting back. To set up CSUSM's fourth match-point, Wheaton blocked an overpass kill attempt by the Wildcats. A Chico hitting error eventually gave CSUSM the victory at 28-26.
