SAN MARCOS, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos volleyball team won a hard-fought four-set California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) match against Stanislaus State on Friday night at The Sports Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Cougars went up 13-8 in the opening set, forcing Stan State to take its first timeout. Behind Vander Weide's six kills, CSUSM held on to take the first set 25-22 to take a 1-0 lead in the match.
- The Warriors fought back to even the match at 23-23, but the Cougars prevailed after a Wheaton tip that dropped and a Micah Hébert kill that made it 25-23.
- The Cougars started off the third set slowly, finding themselves down 11-3. Â CSUSM went on a 12-4 run to even the set at 15-15, but after each team traded leads, the Warriors came out on top at 25-23 to force a fourth set.
- CSUSM came out in the fourth set on fire, taking a quick 7-0 lead. It was Stan State's turn to fight back to take a 22-21 lead before the Cougars clinched the set at 25-22. Â Â
