SAN MARCOS, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos women's soccer team was unable to overcome a two-goal deficit as it fell 2-1 to Humboldt State on Sunday at The Cage.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Just 49 seconds before halftime, a CSUSM foul in the box set up a penalty kick for HSU. Lindsey Stoner booted one into the bottom right side of the goal to give the Lumberjacks a 1-0 lead.
- On a corner kick from HSU's Sabine Postma in the 73rd minute, Erin Siegel headed the ball into the bottom right corner of the net to put the Lumberjacks up 2-0.
- Just two minutes later, the Cougars cut the deficit to 2-1. After a corner kick deflected off some heads, Daoust took a shot from 17 yards out on the right side. The shot bounced off some HSU defenders before settling into the bottom left corner of the goal.

- CSUSM falls to 4-5-2 (3-3 CCAA) while HSU improves to 2-6-2 (1-3 CCAA).
- Daoust's goal was her third of the weekend as she scored two against San Francisco State on Friday. She now has a team-leading seven points for the year.
- The Cougars held a 17-7 advantage for shots while also holding the upper hand on corner kicks at 11-3.
- CSUSM's loss snaps a two-game winning streak to HSU, and it was the Lumberjacks' first win in San Marcos.
