HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Just 49 seconds before halftime, a CSUSM foul in the box set up a penalty kick for HSU. Lindsey Stoner booted one into the bottom right side of the goal to give the Lumberjacks a 1-0 lead.
  • On a corner kick from HSU's Sabine Postma in the 73rd minute, Erin Siegel headed the ball into the bottom right corner of the net to put the Lumberjacks up 2-0.
  • Just two minutes later, the Cougars cut the deficit to 2-1. After a corner kick deflected off some heads, Daoust took a shot from 17 yards out on the right side. The shot bounced off some HSU defenders before settling into the bottom left corner of the goal.
