SAN MARCOS, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos women's soccer team collected a 1-0 overtime victory in its season opener against Western Oregon on Thursday night in The Cage. Freshman 
Hannah Arcala netted her first collegiate goal, a golden goal, in the 98th minute to lift the Cougars to victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED
	- The Cougars held a 4-2 shot advantage in the opening half but were unable to convert that margin in a score on the board.
- WOU got four shots off in the second half while CSUSM only notched one.
- In CSUSM's second corner kick in overtime, Maass sent the ball in and Arcala headed the ball into the left, low corner.
QUICK KICKS
	- The Cougars kept the CCAA streak alive with the win. The Wolves have been held winless by every CCAA team they have faced in the last 10 years.
- Junior Bailey Cockrill recorded her first clean sheet of the season and her sixth shutout in her career.
- With her set-up to Arcala, Maass collected her first career assist.
- CSUSM improves to 1-0 on the year while WOU falls to 0-1.
