SAN MARCOS, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos men's and women's golf teams are competing in a two day tournament beginning today. The CSUSM softball squad returns home this weekend to host Cal State Dominguez Hills while the baseball team heads to Stanislaus State. The Cougar track & field teams are competing in the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational on Saturday.

CAL STATE DOMINGUEZ HILLS

• CSUSM is 8-4 all-time against the Toros.
• The Cougars recorded a series win last season, defeating CSUDH in the final three games by scores of 8-1, 6-3 and 3-2 after dropping game one 1-0.
• The Toros were swept last weekend by No. 3 Chico State by scores of 9-1, 14-2, 4-2 and 5-2.
• CSUDH was selected to finish 11th in the 2018 CCAA softball preseason coaches' poll.

STANISLAUS STATE

• CSUSM is 3-3 all-time against the Warriors.
• Last season, the Cougars won the three-game series against Stan State. CSUSM took the first two games by scores of 7-2 and 10-0 before falling 10-7 in the series finale.
• Jake Large ranks second in hits (45) and fifth in RBIs (31) in the CCAA.
• As a team, the Warriors rank first in the CCAA in pitching (2.99 ERA) and seventh in hitting (.277 avg.).

• The Cougars dropped all four games to No. 14 Cal State Monterey Bay last weekend. After falling 18-7 in the series opener, the next three games were decided by less than five runs (7-3, 7-5, 4-2).
• Junior Marcus Wilhite ranks third in the CCAA in doubles (10) while senior Tyler Place sits in sixth in runs scored (28) and hits (40).
• As a team, CSUSM ranks sixth in batting (.282) and ninth in pitching (5.69 ERA) in the CCAA.
