Tied for 31st at UCSD’s SoCal Intercollegiate (March 4-5) – 75-76-75 – 226 (+10).

AS A FRESHMAN IN 2017-18

Tied for 23rd at CSUSM Fujikura Invitational (Feb. 5-6) 82-71-74 – 227 (+11).
Tied for 35th at the UCSD SoCal Intercollegiate (March 26-27) – 75-75-79 – 229 (+13).
Tied for 66th at the Stan State Hanny Stanislaus Invitational (April 2-3) – 77-83-78 – 238 (+22).
Scoring average (9 rounds): 77.11.

HIGH SCHOOL

Co-MVP his sophomore year (2015).
Team MVP (2016).
Two-time Team Captain.
2nd team All-League as a sophomore.
1st Team All-League as a junior.
4.2 GPA his senior year.
Finished third overall at the South Coast League Individual Championship.
Became just the third golfer in El Toro HS history to make it out of the first round of CIF Regionals.
Member of the key club all four years.
Also, a member of Southern California PGA (SCPGA) Junior Travel Team.

PERSONAL

Born in Trabuco Canyon, Calif.
Parents are Raul Vergel de Dios and Mary Ann Nepomuceno-Vergel de Dios.
Has one older sister, Laura.
Majoring in Kinesiology.
Hopes to pursue a graduate program on physician associate after graduation from CSUSM.
Enjoys hiking, watching movies, and hanging out with friends.
Favorite movie is Kings of Summer.
Favorite athletes are Rickie Fowler, Steph Curry and Jason Day.
Roots for the Golden State Warriors.
His uncle, Paeng Nepomuceno, is a six-time World Ten-Pin Bowling Champion, was also named Bowling Athlete of the Millennium, first male bowling athlete to be enriched into the World Bowling Hall of Fame and Museum in Arlington, Texas, also listed in Guinness Book of World Records for having three unbroken records: Youngest World Bowling Champion (19), Winning the most World Titles in three different decades and for winning the most Worldwide titles in a career (130 wins).
