TURLOCK, Calif. – It was another heartbreaking day for the Cal State San Marcos softball team as the Cougars fell twice to Stanislaus State, 3-1 and 10-9, on Saturday afternoon in California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) action.
The Cougars (8-30, 4-24 CCAA) played flawless defense against Stan State (22-14, 13-9 CCAA), not committing a single error in either game of the twinbill.

Sara Langdon went 2-for-3 with three runs while classmate
Lindsay Cerulle notched three hits and two RBIs on the day.
The Cougars return home next weekend, hosting Cal State Dominguez Hills in a four-game series beginning on Friday, April 6.
GAME 1: Stan State 3 – CSUSM 1
Deja Guzman hit a pair of RBI singles and Allyah Garvin knocked in another to give Stan State a 3-0 lead after five innings.

Raven LeClair's single combined with two walks loaded the bases for junior
Karen Roman to be issued four consecutive balls for another walk and CSUSM's lone run of the game.
GAME 2: Stan State 10 – CSUSM 9
Stan State jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the opening frame but the Cougars tied it in the third inning on a Cerulle RBI groundout.
CSUSM's offense caught fire in the fourth, scoring four runs on four hits and two Warrior errors. Sophomore
Abby Callais got things started with single up the middle and Roman followed with a single through the left side. After a groundout, Langdon recorded a bunt single toward third to score Callais. Junior
Kat Calderon collected a RBI after reaching on a fielder's choice. After Cerulle singled to left field to bring Langdon home, junior
Rae Camez grounded out to second to plate Calderon and give CSUSM a 5-1 lead.
CSUSM's lead was short lived as the Warriors responded with five runs in the bottom of the fourth, highlighted by a grand slam by Garvin, to take a 6-5 lead.
The Warriors added four more runs off seven hits in the bottom of the fifth.
The Cougars put together a six-inning rally, tallying four runs on four hits but was unable to close the gap completely.
