TURLOCK, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos softball team dropped back-to-back one-run games (1-0, 5-4) at Stanislaus State on Friday in California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) action.

The Cougars (8-28, 4-22 CCAA) and Warriors (20-14, 11-9 CCAA) will wrap up their four-game series on Saturday, March 31 with a twinbill starting at 11 a.m.
GAME 1: Stan State 1 – CSUSM 0
The lone run of the game came in the third inning. Stan State's Deja Guzman tapped a RBI single through the left side to score Alexus Martinez who led off the inning with a single up the middle.

Caitlin Vinyard (4-13) took the loss despite allowing just one run on five hits.
GAME 2: Stan State 5 – CSUSM 4
Allyah Garvin hit a three-run homer in the opening frame to give the Warriors a 3-0 lead. Her sister Anyssa Garvin hit a solo home run in the fourth to extend Stan State's lead to 4-0.
CSUSM's offense came alive in the sixth inning. After being hit by a pitch to begin the frame, junior
Kat Calderon advanced on a passed ball before stealing third base. Senior
Lindsay Cerulle drew a full-count walk and stole a base to put runners on second and third. A single down the left line by Camez scored Calderon. Cerulle plated on a wild pitch while Camez moved to third. Freshman
Jaqlyn Newhouser hit a RBI single to left and Callais doubled to center to even the game at 4-4.
Katelyn McDonald hit a walk-off double in the bottom of the seventh to give Stan State the victory.
