HOW IT HAPPENED
- A 7-1 UCSD run at the midway point proved to be the difference in the opening set as the Tritons won 25-19.
- The Cougars found themselves trailing 9-1 early and weren't able to close the gap as UCSD snagged the second set at 25-15.
- CSUSM held a 13-9 lead after a Faith Fortuné kill, but UCSD responded with six unanswered points. The Tritons never relinquished the lead after that point to take the set at 25-21.
