POMONA, Calif. – An early deficit for the Cal State San Marcos men's soccer team was too much to overcome as the Cougars fell 4-1 to Cal Poly Pomona in California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) action on Friday afternoon at Kellogg Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Off a corner kick from Oliveira, Peek headed the ball into the net with the first shot of the game in the second minute to put the Broncos up 1-0.
- CPP went up 2-0 in the 22nd minute thanks to Peek's second goal of the game. Peek tapped it in from inside the box after a pass by Jackmon.
- The Broncos went up by three in the 41st minute after Kenett received a cross-field pass from Higuera and punched it in from the right corner.
- The Cougars cut the deficit to 3-1 in the 67th minute as Cuccia scored his first goal of the season. Cuccia put it into the left side of the net on a pass by Schrock from the corner.
- CPP once again went up by three with a header by Faria in the 73rd minute. Faria received a head pass from Castillo and put a jumping header into the right side of the goal.

- The Broncos' four goals were the most allowed by the Cougars this season and were the most since CPP scored four against CSUSM last season.
- CSUSM drops to 6-4-2 (2-3-2 CCAA) while CPP improves to 8-4 (6-1 CCAA).

- The Cougars held the advantage in corners at 4-3, taking all four in the second half.
