CARSON, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos men's soccer team falls to No. 19 Cal State Dominguez Hills, 2-0, in California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) play on Monday night at Toro Stadium.

CSUSM drops to 2-4-2 overall and 0-3-1 CCAA. The Toros improve to 6-2, 3-1 CCAA following the win.
"We created some quality chances, but still lack a little commitment, hunger, desire in the penalty area and that has been the difference," said CSUSM head coach
Ron Pulvers. "Proud of my team and the model of soccer we produce, just have to find ways to get on the right side of the results."
Manuel Paez put the Toros on the board first in the 67th minute when he received a ball from teammate Matt Lockwood, took a few touches inside the box and was able to finish for his first goal of the season. CSUDH would tack on another goal in the 86th minute when Leonardo Nogueria from the left side scored to the lower right corner for his second goal of the year.

CSUSM edged the Toros in the corner kick battle, 7-6 but were outshot 25-12 for the match. The Cougars sophomore goalkeeper
Justin Tesar, making his first start of the season, made five total saves in his return.

Junior
David Martin and freshman
Dante Longo led CSUSM in shots with four and three, respectively.

The Cougars return home to The Cage to take on Cal State San Bernardino on Friday, Sept. 29. Kick-off is scheduled for 3 p.m.
