CAL STATE DOMINGUEZ HILLS
  • The Cougars are 3-2 all-time in the series against CSUDH.
  • In their last meeting, the Cougars recorded a 1-0 victory over CSUDH at The Cage. Senior Courtney Mcleish scored in the 11th minute to lead the Cougars over the Toros.
  • The Toros are coming off a 2-1 loss to No. 10 UCSD on Friday. Sept 22 in Carson. CSUDH has scored just two goals on the season.
  • CSUSM has not lost to CSUDH since Sept. 1, 2009 and have won the last three meetings including three consecutive shutouts.
 
CAL STATE SAN BERNARDINO
  • Three times the Cougars and Coyotes have faced off and all three have resulted in ties.
  • After 110 minutes in their last meeting, the Cougars and Coyotes ended in a 0-0 draw on Oct. 29 in San Bernardino. The two teams tied 1-1 in the two previous matches.
  • The Coyotes have won three consecutive matches, all of which come in CCAA play. CSUSB is coming off a 2-1 overtime win over CCAA opponent Cal State East Bay on Sept. 24 in San Bernardino. Senior Rachael Figg leads the team with five goals this season. Junior goalkeeper Destiny Collins has recorded three shutouts on the year.
 
CAL POLY POMONA
  • The Cougars hold a 2-1-2 all-time series record over the Broncos.
  • CSUSM and CPP ended in a 0-0 draw after 110 minutes of play in the last meeting on Oct. 27 2016 in Pomona.
  • The Broncos enter the match having won back-to-back CCAA games over Cal State East Bay and Cal State Monterey Bay. Both matches finished 1-0 in favor of the Broncos.
  • Senior Daisy Duran and sophomore Amanda Duran lead the Broncos with three goals each.
  • CSUSM has recorded points in each of its last four matches with CPP. The Cougars have not lost to the Broncos since a 3-1 decision on Aug. 25, 2006.

PREVIOUS WEEK
  • CSUSM dropped their only match of the week to CSULA, 1-0, on the road Friday, Sept. 22.
  • The Cougars outshot the Golden Eagles 13-10 for the match and had the edge in corner kicks, 7-3. Senior Kayla Anderson led the team with four shots in the match.

CAL STATE DOMGINGUEZ HILLS
  • The Cougars are 0-5 all-time against CSUDH.
  • In their last meeting, the Cougars dropped a 1-0 decision on Oct. 14, 2016 at The Cage. Carlos Torres scored the game-winner in the 63rd minute for CSUDH.
  • The Toros are coming off a 2-1 loss to UCSD on Friday, Sept. 22 in Carson. CSUDH has won three of its last four matches on the year.
  • Junior Juan Hernandez leads the Toros with four goals this season. CSUDH has outscored their opponents 12-8 on the year.
 
CAL STATE SAN BERNARDINO
  • The Coyotes hold a 3-1 record over CSUSM in the all-time head-to-head series.
  • The Cougars have dropped back-to-back 2-1 decisions to CSUSB. The most recent came in the final match of the year on Oct. 29, 2016 in San Bernardino.
  • The Coyotes have won two straight CCAA matches. They have outscored their opponents 6-1 in two matches.
  • Junior Danny Ortiz leads the Coyotes with four goals this season.
 
CAL POLY POMONA
  • The Cougars are 1-2-2 all-time against the Broncos.
  • In their last meeting, CPP shutout CSUSM in a 4-0 win on Oct. 27, 2016 in Pomona.
  • The Broncos have won three consecutive CCAA matches, outscoring their opponents 10-1 during that time. CPP has scored 28 goals as team this season.
  • Senior Sergi Monso is second in the nation with 12 goals on the year. Monso has also tallied five assists and compiled 29 points this season.
  • CSUSM tied CPP 1-1 the last time the Broncos visited The Cage on Sept. 20, 2015.

  • CSUSM fell to CSULA, 1-0, in their lone match of the week on Friday, Sept. 22 in Los Angeles.
  • Sophomore goalkeeper Alex Franklin made nine saves in the match.

CAL POLY POMONA
  • The all-time series is tied at 2-2 between the Cougars and the Broncos.
  • CSUSM pulled off a series sweep last year against Pomona. The Cougars earned a four-set victory at The Sports Center on Oct. 14, 2016 before sweeping the Broncos in Pomona two weeks later.
  • The Broncos have gone 1-1 in their first two weekend of conference play, registering four-set victories over Cal State East Bay and San Francisco State. They were swept by Sonoma State and suffered a five-set heartbreaker to Cal State Monterey Bay in their two losses.
 
CAL STATE SAN BERNARDINO
  • CSUSM is hunting for its first win over national-powerhouse CSUSB as the Coyotes hold a 3-0 all-time series lead over the Cougars.
  • The Cougars fell in three-sets in both matches to the Coyotes last season.
  • CSUSB remains in the top-25 despite its 7-5 overall record. The Coyotes recorded back-to-back sweeps last weekend against Cal State Monterey Bay and Cal State East Bay. Their lone conference loss was at the hands of Sonoma State on Sept. 16 when they fell in four sets in Rohnert Park.
PREVIOUS WEEK 
  • CSUSM collected back-to-back conference wins last weekend at home. The Cougars earned a four-set victory over Chico State Friday before defeating Stanislaus State in their first five-set match of 2017.
  • The Cougars remain ranked No. 2 in the CCAA statistics in digs thanks in large part to freshman libero Grecia Cordero-Barr who leads the conference with a 4.93 dig average per set.
  • Junior Faith Fortuné moved into the CCAA's top spot in blocking this week, averaging 1.35 blocks per set. She closing in on two CSUSM career block records held by Erin Talafus. She needs 10 block assists and 34 total blocks to take the top spot in those two categories.

  • CSUSM will make its fifth consecutive appearance in the Mustang Invitational (formerly called Mustang Challenge).
  • Top male Cougar finish: sixth place by Vahagn Isayan last year
  • Top female Cougar finish: second place finishes by Natalie Rodriguez (2016), Kate Bouvatte (2014) and Ayded Reyes (2013)
 
LAST OUTING
  • The women took sixth out of 30 teams while the men placed 15th out of 33 teams at the UC Riverside Invitaitonal. The Cougars ran against NCAA Division I and II teams as well as NAIA schools at this race.
  • Senior Natalie Rodriguez placed 28th with a time of 20:53.3, just 3.7 seconds shy of her own CSUSM 6K record set last year at the UCR Invite.
  • On the men's side, sophomore Joshua Litwiller paced the Cougars with a time of 24:46.5 to crush his personal best by 30.5 seconds and placing him No. 9 in the all-time top-25 CSUSM performers list.
 
USTFCCAA RANKINGS
  • The women's team is back in the USTFCCCA Top-25 national rankings at No. 9 after not being ranked last week.
  • The Cougars made their national ranking debut in the preseason poll at No. 22.
